Minority Student Nurses Association

About

The Minority Student Nursing Association, in short MSNA, garners much of its values and standards by those of the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations. MSNA strives to broaden the scope of knowledge on diversity in the healthcare field; advocate for positive advancement and innovation in healthcare; demonstrate a standard of excellence in our practice; grow as leaders within our fields; and endorse ethnic minority nurse leadership in areas of health policy, practice, education and research. These goals are met by involvement with and servicing the Tallahassee community, FSU campus, and other student organizations, intending to create a positive impact, while also growing and teaching the members of the association, from all backgrounds, what diversity truly is and how best to advocate for this vision. As an all inclusive club, individual of ALL backgrounds are encouraged to participate and contribute to the organization's current level of comprehension, as well as obtain and implement insight from other members. As MSNA grows the goal is for its influence to spread and be an instrument for facilitating the progression and amelioration of the healthcare field and communities served by it.

The Minority Student Nursing Association plans to execute its ambitious goals by engaging in community service in areas that inspire the members; hosting speakers knowledgeable about diversity in the healthcare field; nominating members to present on topics that explore and achieve the goals of the organization; encouraging engagement from the public through fun and educational events; and developing leaders and thinkers for the present and future.

Diversity starts with one individual, the Minority Student Nursing Association aims at unifying this diversity one member at a time.
